Bourgas: a new zone plan will turn industrial land into residential areas
Architects will unveil a new city centre, because the designated one has exhausted its growth and development potential.
A chunk of Bourgas's industrial land is set to be allocated to residential piecese as part of a major project to change the zoning plan of the city, according to Petko Yovchev, chairman of Chamber of the Architects in Bulgaria, quoted by BTA.For the time being there is a considerable stock of industrial plots in Bourgas (60 per cent), he added.
Yovchev noted, that the plan for the city's re-design and makeover will be ready next year. His project won the tender and he signed a contract with the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works at the end of November. A panel of 30 specialists will be involved in the plan's development, which will try to reinstate Bourgas's appeal as a tourist centre and coastal attraction.
