Romanian furniture chain opens Hipermarket in the capital of Bulgaria


bulgaria rumaniaRomanian furniture company Mobexpert opened its first hypermarket in Bulgaria in Sofia's housing district of Lyulin.
Ten million euro was invested, of which 80 % were provided as a bank credit from Alpha Bank, he president of Mobexpert Group Dan Sucu announced as quoted by investor.bg.
The building construction costed eight million euro and the rest of the amount would be invested in products.
The company's expansion strategy for the period until 2011 envisions investments of 40 to 50 million EURO.
The hypermarket would give 420 work places. Annual benifit of Mobexpert's hypermarkets was 200 million EURO. The company has 4500 employees.
In June, 2007 Mobexpert said that it was planning to open hypermarkets in Plovdiv and Varna.
Romanian Prime Minister Kalin Popescu Taricanu, on a visit to Bulgaria, was present at the opening.
Bulgarian firms should invest in Romania, Taricanu announced as quoted by Focus news agency. Investment is the way in which both countries could grow their population's income and reach the standards of living of other European Union countries, he added.
The fact that the company decided to invest in Bulgaria was evidence of the good business climate in the country.
