Investment fund Equest plans to build a 16-floor office centre on the site of the Iztok cinema. The new zoning plan for the region will be put forth for public discussion on October 17.
The Equest high-rise location, with a gross actual area of 2 000 sq m, will act as a counterpoint to the Pliska Hotel situated across the Tsarigradsko Chausse, according to the authors of the zoning plan.
The revised zoning plan of the Iztok borough, one of Sofia's prime residential region, covers an area of 46 ha locked between the Tsagrigradsko Chausse and Dragan Tsankov avenue and the Atanas Dalchev and Nezabravka streets. The plan allows for a construction height of up to 17 floors.
The public debate of the new zoning plan of the Dianabad district, covering an area of 65 ha, took place on October 18.
